Green Chile Posole

Yields1 Serving

 2 lbs Pork Shoulder/Butt, cubed(substitute smoked chicken if you prefer)
 62 oz Golden Hominy (4 15.5oz Cans), drained(substitute white hominy if you prefer)
 1 White or Yellow Onion, diced
 1 tbsp Oregano
 6 cups Water
 1.50 tbsp Chicken Bouillon
 2 cups Green Chile, chopped(mild or hot depending on your preference)
 1 tbsp Salt(or to taste)
 1 tsp Black Pepper

Brown meat in a large pot over medium to medium high heat


Add the diced onions, the drained cans of hominy and the green chile


Add the water, chicken bouillon, oregano, salt and pepper


Stir the pot and mix all the ingredients together well. Bring to a boil, then lower heat to simmer. Cover and cook for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Serving Suggestions

Serve with flour tortillas
Add some shredded Mexican Cheese Blend to the bowl like my kids do
